About This Book
Louis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, published in 1865, is a classic that has been loved by readers around the world for well over a century. The first edition of the illustration was drawn by John Tenniel, followed by outstanding writers such as Arthur Lacom, Tobey Jansson, Anthony Brown and Yayoi Kusama, who interpreted Alice from their own perspectives. The Salvador Dali edition of Alice in Wonderland, published in 1969, was produced as a limited edition of only 2,700 volumes, and the Princeton University Press published the 86th edition of McMillan, which Carol was most satisfied with during her lifetime, and reproduced the original two prefaces.
The mysteries of Alice in Wonderland are so elaborate and meticulous that they sometimes discourage readers who want to read in depth. However, with a suitable guide, ordinary readers can approach the hidden fun of Alice in Wonderland more easily. In the Salvador Dali edition of Alice in Wonderland, two high-quality essays were published in the preface. The first preface was written by Mark Bernstein, the honorary chairman of the Lewis Carrolls Association in North America and only 14 books related to carols edited or written. He explains in what context the images and symbols in the book are in, including the relationship between Carol and Dali. Thomas Vantzov, an honorary professor of mathematics at Brown University who wrote the second preface, added a commentary on the mathematical metaphors flowing through Alice in Wonderland, recalling his friendship with Dali. These two in-depth essays will give readers who want to venture with Alice a higher level of commitment.
