About This Book
A collection of prose paintings by Chang Ucchin, Korea's leading modern artist. First published in 1976, the painting prose collection "Atelier of the River" has been loved since its publication as the only book where you can meet Chang Ucchin's writings, and it has been newly introduced in 40 years to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth. The title is the same, but the content has changed a lot. Articles excluded at the time of first publication and prose published in newspapers and magazines after publication were greatly added. Thus, a book called "Chang Ucchin's Complete Collection" was born as a revised and enlarged edition of "Atelier of the River."
In the case of illustrations, the first edition was selected and included at the discretion of the editor without any specific criteria, this time the paintings that were originally contributed with the original article were first included, and appropriate illustrations were selected for the articles that were not published from the beginning. In addition, "It's Okay to Draw," which the artist dictated during a large-scale retrospective exhibition held at Duson Gallery in Dongsung-dong, Seoul in May 1987, was also added.
