About This Book
This is another novel from Jeon Sung-tae, who is well known for his good
tight plots, and unique subject matters of his novels. The main
character of “Border Crossing”, runs away as a whistle is blown by a kid
as he is crossing the border from Cambodia to Thailand with other
Japanese tourists. As the author describes the inner thoughts of the
main character as he crosses the border, Jeon tries to catch the border
complex of people of divided countries.
The omnibus book consists of 8 different stories in an elegant and
lively style. To name a few, “Forests of Existence” is a story about the
eccentric experiences of a comedian, “Yeoney’s Thoughts” is a
biographical story about a friend who committed suicide, and “Retired
