About This Book
This book is meaningful in that it is the first Korean War book organized by a Korean modern history major for the general public. Professor Park Tae-kyun of Seoul National University's Graduate School of International Studies has been giving lectures on the Korean War for many years, sharing feedback with students from the post-war generation, and agonizing over what "the Korean War means to us now."
The book begins by explaining why the war should be called the "Korean War," not the 6.25, and points out sequentially from the origin of the war to the division of the country. The view to remove the ideologies and prejudices that power has talked about the Korean War so far and to look realistic is outstanding.
It is a book that gives Koreans a holistic look at what this war is, how important it was in our history, and what its present meaning is. A total of 68 historical materials, including the "Constitution of Armistice Agreement" that ordinary people have only heard about and never seen, as well as photos of the war, various maps, and meticulously organized war logs help them understand.
