Korea had to struggle under colonial conditions until 1945, and in continuation she had to experience war from June 1950 to July 1953 amid conflicts as a split nation. These convulsions have become our motive to reflect and criticize our past history and present condition.
The few of short essays collected in this volume have been gathered with the hope of putting to an end to the analysis of one or two viewpoints wrongly and improperly held on Korea in the past, by utilizing the data as they are, though not fresh, with the hope that it might be a guide of some foreign readers attached to Korea for their better understanding of Korea
