About This Book
It contains 26 cuts of Korean folk paintings depicting summer-time materials such as flowers, insects, watermelons, peaches, and pomegranates. Without any unfamiliar and complex traditional painting tools, the color pencils alone brought back the comfortable and colorful colors inherent in folk paintings. Anyone can complete a great folk painting with a single colored pencil by simply learning the basics through a mini lesson presented in Part 1.
Minhwa's subjects include everyday wishes such as longevity, wealth, and family happiness. In "Hwajapdo," which depicts flowers and butterflies, the desire for joy, happiness and love between couples is contained, while in "Chopchungdo," which combines insects and nature, contains a desire to love nature and follow its providence. And the "sogwa," which depicts fruits and vegetables, contains a wish for the prosperity of offspring. It would be a good idea to have a time to wish for the well-being of me and my surroundings, coloring the various flowers, fruit, and fruit trees contained in the book.
In addition, the author's color-pencil folk painting design was selected as Korea's representative design by the Korea International Trade Association and participated in an international phrase exhibition held in New York, receiving great love from abroad. With gratitude, this book also contains English explanations to promote Korean folk paintings to the world and to receive more love.
