Need a place to die? Come to Moodori! Creepy, kooky, and full of gallows humor,
black comedy Moodori is the inventive debut feature from director Lee Hyeong
Seon, who previously worked in television. Starring veterans Park In Hwan, Choi
Joo Bong, and Seo Hee Seung and actress Seo Yeong Hee (To Sir With Love), this
minor gem reminds of the offbeat humor of Mapado, but served by three feisty
grandfathers this time around. Full of morbid twists, strange surprises, and
comic tragedy, Moodori is a low-budget offering with unexpected mileage.
The sleepy little town of Moodori has become the path of no return for many
visitors, oddly appropriate since its name means "pathless town". It all started
when the webmaster of a suicide website picked a lake near Moodori as his ideal
drowning location. With his final destination popularized on the web, Moodori
soon becomes the hot spot for suicide. Town residents Bong Ki (Park In Hwan),
Hae Gu (Choi Joo Bong), and Bang Yun (Seo Hee Seung) decide to capitalize on
Moodori's newfound notoriety by opening a guesthouse for these short-term
visitors, advertising their haunt as the perfect place for the nearly departed.
