About this book

Pathfinder in Korean II was intended and designed for adults who wish to study Korean as a foreign language. Integrating the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, this book constitutes a second step of the beginners' level and consists of 15 units. Colloquialism and Writing were added as the new components in Book II.
In the section of Colloquialism, learners get familiarized with a variety of idiomatic of colloquial expressions that are used by Korean native speakers in their everyday life. In the section of Writing, learners get exposed to different writing styles and methods. In this section, referring to the samples, learners are directed to brainstorm and motivate themselves to write about topics they are interested in.
In the Reading section as in Book I, the link of language experience to the target culture, the Korean culture, is emphasized, and all the orientations in reading materials focus on cultural aspects for effective communication channels. Readings in the book, in addition, are created and designed for enhancing learners' understanding of Koreans' attitude and mentality.
The most important objective of learning or studying a foreign language is to develop communicative skills in the language. Pathfinder in Korean 2 is the very book in which skills for practical communications are acquired in natural and effective ways.

Pathfinder in Korean Workbook II consists of 15 units, each with 5 sections: Grammatical Structure, Vocabulary, Expressions, Sample Dialog and Reading. The grammar section provides exercises in which learners can review as well as pre-study the grammar items covered in each unit of Student Book. The vocabulary section gives exercises not only for reviewing the words studied in Student Book but also for learning new extended words. The expressions section presents exercises in which learners can get acquainted with functionally and socially appropriate words. The sample dialog and reading sections, which are laid out in the same sequence as the tasks and reading sections in Student Book, provides exercises in which learners can improve reading skills as well as enhance their familiarity with Korean culture.
