Fantasy/horror manga by Ichiko Ima.
The story begins with a ritual -- a midnight feast prepared for seven mysterious
guests. The head of the family, the grandfather of Ritsu, has just passed away.
Everything has been planned as though he foresaw his death. No one in the family
knows who the seven guests are as the old man himself wrote and sent the
invitations beforehand. His family merely set up the dining room according to
his will.
Ritsu, the little boy, wondered around that night. He sees the guests as the old
maid leads them into the dining room. Puzzled by the scene of strange creatures
(which appeared human to the old maid), the boy retreats into the kitchen and
bumps into another creature.
"What are you doing? Why don't you take a seat in the dining room?" the boy
asks.
"The seats are all taken," the creature answers.
The boy becomes alarmed when he counts the guests in the dining room, all seven
of them.
"I'll let you in on a secret, kid, I'm the only guest tonight," so says the
creature as he turns into a dragon and seizes the dining room, devouring the
seven unwary creatures who are plotting to eat this family.
"Snail spared my life, and I'm to return the favor by protecting you," says Blue
Wind, the creature who takes the form of a dragon.
Promenade of One Hundred Ghosts is a mind boggling manga. The above is a brief
